    Nexen Tires
In 1942 the
Nexen tires company was establish, although under the name
Heung-A Tire Company in Korea. However, due to the Japanese
occupation of the peninsula, the first tires weren’t
produced until 1956, 11 years after World War Two. It was in
1985 that the Company expanded and opened a radial tire
factory in the city of Yangsan, Korea. At the beginning of
the 1990s, the company merged with Japanese rubber and tire
maker, OHTSU and began to further its knowledge and
understanding of tire production. With the Millennium came a
company name change from Woosung tires to Nexen Tire
Corporation. The name is a paronomasia for the words ‘Next’
and ‘Century’. The company has, over the years, established
itself as one of the better leaders in tire production in
and around Asia. Constantly improving its tire quality,
Nexen tires are indeed dependable, albeit durable
tires.
The
company produces tires for different types of vehicles. High
performance tires for sports cars, etc, passenger tires for
the family man to take his kids to the mall, SUV and light
truck tires for the off roaders and working man and snow
tires for those who live where the polar bears and reindeer
roam. The Nexen N1000 is an ultra high performance tire idea
for summer driving.
The tire has
a directional wide aqua groove designed tread which prevents
the tire from hydroplaning. The rib of the tire is designed
to maintain stability and therefore cornering and braking
power are enhanced. Truly a well engineered tire and
probably responsible for saving many lives. Nexen tires
passenger series includes the CP641 a tire that has a
rotational design for smooth quiet driving. The tread’s
design, like the above N1000, also resists hydroplaning and
comes with a 55,000 mile warranty, clearly another fine
product from the company.
Nexen
tires are also used in motor sports, namely drift racing and
other similar car races. The tires are a popular choice with
pros and amateurs alike and can be seen on many vehicles at
raceways. In the 2009 SEMA show, Nexen tires stole the
limelight from other manufacturers with a display of their
high performance tires. Car enthusiasts converged on Nexen
staff asking an array of different pertinent questions about
the design, structure, etc. It appeared that following the
show, many car owners – both high performance and passenger
– were considering switching to the Nexen brand.
If you’re
still undecided about which tires are best suited for your
vehicle, visit a tire dealer and learn about the Nexen brand
of tire, you won’t regret it.
