    Wild
Country Tires
The name
says it all – wild country tires are for people who drive
off road either for their work or for the sheer enjoyment.
However if you’re mainly a highway or bitumen driver, then
investing in a set of these tires may be seen, by those
close to you, as a complete waste of money. Also, if you
drive a vehicle that isn’t designed for driving over rough
terrain – save your money and do not put wild country tires
on a standard highway car. These tires are heavy duty and
although not a well known tire, there are many loyal users.
Farmers often have these tires on farm vehicles, like pickup
trucks and the like as their reputation for durability is
synonymous with all off road drivers - farmer or
otherwise.
Wild
country tires will take you and your vehicle pretty much
anywhere. Their tough construction easily plows through mud
or takes you over rocky surfaces and across shallow rivers.
The unique tread designs enable the tire to “self-clean”.
This is due an aggressive design which refuses to let mud
and other muck remain on the tire. Most of the wild country
tires retailed have a special, ‘S’ shaped tread which gives
the tires their uniqueness. When it comes to on road or
highway driving, these tires will not give you a headache
from road noise.
Indeed,
according to many owners, the tire gives a smooth relatively
quiet ride and road handling is excellent. These tires are
also ideal for drivers of Jeeps or SUVs, allowing you to,
not only drive around the city but at a moments notice, go
off road.
There
are various sizes and styles of the wild country tire and
depending on the type of vehicle you drive, you can easily
switch to these tough long lasting tires. As mentioned
above, however, don’t try putting these tires on your Honda
Accord. Not only will the steering and handling be
difficult, you’ll also find that you are using more
gasoline.
Heavy tires
put more drag on the vehicle. With a small car, the engine
has to work much harder against the heavy tires, thus
gasoline consumption goes up. Large engines, like V8s or V6s
have so much more power that tire drag is not a major issue.
If you are thinking of adding new tires to your off road
vehicle, consider investing in a set of wild country
tires.
